What is OpenBook?
OpenBook is a simple PHP/MySQL guestbook application which is fast and lightweight.
If you have your own website and want to hear your visitors comments, praise or feedback about your site, OpenBook is, well honestly, just one of many free guestbook applications available as an add-on to your site.
Why choose OpenBook then?
it's fast - using PHP4 and MySQL, OpenBook runs faster than other CGI-based guestbooks
it's lightweight - the OpenBook package currently weighs in at less than 40kb
it's an ongoing project - new features will be added continuously, expanding the functionality of your guestbook. We intend to make releases at an average of once per month
it's Open Source - you can change the code to suit your needs
it's free - but yeah so what? most guestbooks are free anyway. At least we want you to have it with no strings attached

Is OpenBook for me? To use OpenBook on your site, your web-host must support PHP4 and you need to have a MySQL database. Otherwise, you're out of luck. But don't despair because a file-based version is in the works and support for other databases (starting with PostgreSQL) is in our plans.
Where can I go when I need help? There's a support forum where you can go to post any queries or any difficulties you may face. Go ahead, register as a member now!
Is OpenBook really free? OpenBook is licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL) and is thus free for almost all uses. More information regarding this license is available here
